Disclaimer: Just FYI, my reviews are not spoiler-free. If you don't like spoilers, then it's probably a good idea to watch the episode first. But if you do like spoilers, then feel free to read on if you like.

Chester

This episode is primarily centered around Chester. At the start of the episode, we saw that he hasn't been feeling quite like himself, especially while looking at the burned people and the flames. I originally thought that Chester was just a little scared of what this mysterious villain was doing or that maybe he had a connection somehow with 'it' and just didn't want anybody to know. As it turns out, later in the episode, we discovered that he thought that the flames had something to do with his dad. He thought this because his dad died in a fire, and he thought he was being punished for hating him for a time. This wasn't the case, but because this brought up a lot of grief from Chester, he got attacked by the flames (which I will mention later). He was able to see that it wasn't his father with the help of Cecile and Allegra and made the flame go away. I really liked the 'flashbacks' that Chester had with his father during this scene. I felt that they provided this scene a much more emotional impact in a good way.

The Villain's Strength?

We learned that the villain seems to be acquiring strength or power from people's grief. It has been mentioned that all the victims that died from the flame had experienced some sort of loss. As mentioned above, Chester was thinking of his dad, and in turn, the flame went to attack him. But what could this possibly mean? Where could a villain like this come from? and could it be connected somehow to any of the members of team flash? I guess we'll just have to find out in the next episode.

Iris and Sue

As Iris' time sickness gets worse, she and Sue volunteer to go on a mission to find a girl that can walk through walls. Because Iris was in fear of what could happen to her, she was very 'determined' to try to find the girl, all the while trying to avoid Sue's question as to why she decided to join in the first place. Once they found the girl, named Tinya, they found out that she was trying to find her mom and they promised they would help her. In the final scene of the episode, Deon came to Iris and told her that her condition is a lot worse than expected... ending on a cliffhanger. This side storyline isn't that bad so far; I am interested to see what Deon has to say next episode. I hope it's nothing too serious.

Conclusion

I know this review is a little short, not a lot actually happened in this episode. It wasn't short or anything, it just focused on 2 specific things and was just a little simple. It was an okay episode. It wasn't bad. I think my most favorite part of the episode was when it showed Chester and his dad. I am excited to see what happens next, the promo for the next episode seems pretty cool.

That's my review for season 8, episode 9. If you made it to the end, I hope you liked it. Feel free to let me know what are your thoughts on the episode and what other reviews would you like to see.  When the next season of Stranger Things comes out, I might start doing reviews on it, so stay tuned for that and have a nice day:)
